We are recruiting a new team to work on our exciting new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme.

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is bringing in a new Electronic Patient Record. This is a major transformation programme that will affect almost all Trust employees, supporting them to provide better quality care for our patients and families.

We are currently recruiting for EPR Business Change Manager (B7) for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital.

The EPR will be a big change for all our patient-facing teams, so we are looking for people with the energy, passion and resilience to manage the complexities and high risks involved to help us deliver this critical programme of work.

Main duties of the job

CT and Digital Strategy plays a critical role in supporting the organisation to deliver efficient, high-quality care. With a view to clinical and operational priorities, the post holder must work with staff across the Trust to develop and implement an electronic patient record that supports improvements in the delivery of care.

The post holder will have a central role in supporting the implementation and delivery of the Trust's electronic patient record.

As a senior member of the team, the post holder will be responsible for leading the extensive culture and business change agenda associated with implementing and developing full electronic health records.

The post holder will be experienced working with, and understanding the needs of clinical staff to ensure clinical engagement is at the heart of all the EPR programme does. They will lead communications and engagement activities as well as providing expert advice on areas across the team.

The post holder will have management responsibilities for the Programme's training and business change teams. They will be responsible for developing the training team to ensure it is focused on systems and processes, as well as ensuring that professional training is consistently delivered to a high quality across the Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified to degree level
  • Post-graduate diploma or equivalent, relevant qualifications


Desirable

  • Formal project management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2 (practitioner level)
  • Training and Business Change Management qualifications


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Substantial evidence of the successful delivery of business change projects in a complex environment, planning and organising a broad range of complex activities that require the formulation and adjustment of plans and strategies
  • Substantial experience of stakeholder identification and management in a complex environment.
  • Evidenced ability to translate complex operational needs into ICT system requirements
  • Substantial experience managing staff and leading project teams with a diverse range of professionals.


Desirable

  • Experience working with clinical staff to identify needs, and adapt projects and / or systems as a result.
  • Detailed knowledge of process management principles, including lean
  • Knowledge of data confidentiality and security issues in the NHS


Analytical and judgement Skills

Essential

  • The ability to negotiate with and influence those from different professional backgrounds in challenging circumstances.
  • Evidence of managing a number of priorities while still meeting key deadlines
  • Ability to provide and receive highly complex information and disseminate it effectively to individuals who may not have a technical background.
  • Ability to make judgements involving complex facts requiring analysis and interpretation of a range of options
