The designation of Environmental Services Officer applies to a self-motivated member of the workforce. Their duties are to ensure that day-to-day handling and disposal of waste is in accordance with approved practices.
The Environmental Services Officer will be employed to cover any post on any shift in the team.
They will join an integrated team responsible for all waste and manual sweeping of hospital grounds including streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc). Empty litter bins, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, and collect sweepers bags from agreed pick-up points. The operation of a water jet wash to clean walkways and loading bays.
