SUMMARY OF POSITION

ARRC is looking for a full-time, hard-working, and responsible individual to join as an Environmental Technician. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting operators, installing matting, and performing stabilization tasks such as seeding, strawing, and planting trees, shrubs, and bioengineering materials. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential for this position. The candidate must expect to work outdoors in a mix of weather conditions.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Follow project instructions from the Foreman
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications for job layout
  • Experience operating equipment to dig, load, unload, and install trees/plant material in all types of terrain and soils, including wetlands, hill slopes, and stream banks
  • Safely operate a variety of tools including hand tools, chainsaws, and miscellaneous power tools
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
  • Install sediment control and stabilization measures, plant trees and shrubs, and install erosion control matting
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including following all construction site safety rules and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior landscaping and supervisory experience is preferred
  • High School or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships are a plus
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines
  • Must be able to physically stand, bend, squat, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must follow all company rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines
