Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Environmental Manager on a 6 month contract with potential to be extended based in Scotland.

Role Summary

We have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Lead to deliver and oversee environmental management for a 400 kV OHL Reinforcement Project, which is approximately 90 kms.

In this role, you will be accountable and responsible for leading the delivery programme off the back of the low-level solution design and scope in time and on budget as a minimum.

You will be responsible for overseeing all environmental and sustainability activities within the Smart Infrastructure team, which is a rapidly growing area within the UK.

This role will encompass strategic planning, project execution, risk management, subcontractor management, budget control, and client communication, contributing significantly to the company's sustainability goals and reputation for environmental excellence.

The role will act as a key point of contact for environmental matters across multiple projects and will play a crucial role in shaping the company's sustainable future.

As a senior team member, you will be responsible for client and end-user engagement during pre-construction, construction, and handover, including reporting processes and issue resolution to the appointed project senior stakeholder.

In relation to scale, projects range from small to GBP0.5m+ works with multiple projects delivered concurrently as part of our growth strategy; helping to define and grow the team to support will also be a significant part of the role.

Requirements

• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of seniority
• Good written ability to support content creation
• Relative understanding of the energy market is desirable
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to analyse data, supporting the broader teams in making informed decisions
• Experience in Lean / Six Sigma styles of process improvement is desirable
• Willingness to travel to enable effective project delivery
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Passionate, personable & approachable character
• Strong leadership skills/persona
• Ability to deliver at pace with the patience to understand the sector of operation
