Environmental Health Officer/ Senior Environmental Health Officer

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Salary: SK14 - SK16 (£39,027 - £42,930). This is a career graded post; starting salary depends on experience.

Contract: Permanent

Job Responsibilities:

The post holder will be part of a team delivering the council’s environmental protection functions, including:

1. Investigation of statutory nuisance complaints
2. Pollution control
3. Environmental permitting
4. Contaminated land investigation
5. Stray dogs
6. Public health (including rodent infestations, filthy and verminous premises, and drainage issues)
7. Public health funerals
8. Drainage
9. Noise measurement
10. Commenting on planning and licensing applications

Additional Responsibilities at Top of Grade:

The post holder will also provide day-to-day supervision, advice, guidance, and technical and developmental support to the environmental protection officers within the team.
