Job Description

Requirements

You will have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, and the Royal Environmental Health Institute Diploma or other professional body qualifications.

Responsibilities

You will work in the Environment/Public Health Team in the Regulatory Services Section. You will be required to carry out the effective implementation, support, and enforcement of Environmental Health legislation relating to Public Health and Pollution Control, as well as providing responses to development management (Planning) and licensing applications.

The Individual

You will have general experience in all fields of Environmental Health, preferably with specialist knowledge in the fields of environmental protection and statutory nuisances, air quality, and public health. You will have good communication skills (both oral and written), good computer and presentation skills, IT/analytical skills, and good report writing skills. You will have the ability to deal with conflict, work as part of a team, work on your own initiative, meet deadlines with minimum supervision, and deal methodically and innovatively with problems to achieve a positive outcome. You will be willing to work varied and flexible hours as and when required.
