Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Grays Harbor County
Compensation: $65,000-$70,000
Schedule: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Job Overview:
We have partnered with a local manufacturing facility who is searching for a motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Create and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Organize and conduct safety training programs (CPR, First Aid, chemical handling, fire safety, etc.).
- Monitor and enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure it meets safety standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture, engaging employees in proactive safety practices.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation, ensuring timely compliance.
- Collaborate with management to foster safety awareness and integrate safety considerations into all aspects of business operations.
- Maintain and review safety and environmental records and logs in line with industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in an EHS management or safety officer role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other local and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other safety-related programs.
- Ability to conduct effective training sessions and engage employees in safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations with calm and decisiveness.
- Proficiency with EHS management software.
