Environmental Consultant
Contract Duration: 3-6 months, with potential for extension
Location: Greater Manchester
Rate: Circa £400-450 per day (dependent on experience), outside IR35
2-3 Days per week.
Are you an experienced Environmental specialist, ideally with an industrial background, ready for a new contract assignment?
If so, you could have the opportunity to work on a project focused on energy management in the Northwest, specifically around Greater Manchester. You'd be working with a growing food producer and distributor on a project that's set to be a long-term, part-time gig.
Key responsibilities of the Environmental Consultant will include:
- Lead the execution of the environmental policy by proactively identifying areas for improvement, designing targeted action plans, and establishing robust procedures to enhance environmental performance.
- Provide expert guidance to sites across the Northwest on carbon reporting, energy efficiency initiatives, and greenhouse gas emissions tracking to ensure compliance and sustainability goals are met.
- Oversee the implementation of comprehensive environmental assessments organisation-wide, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and sustainability objectives.
- Evaluate and define the scope of energy efficiency and management projects, ensuring they meet organisational needs and contribute to long-term environmental and operational goals.
The successful Environmental Consultant requires:
- Demonstrable environmental, energy management and carbon reporting knowledge and experience, ideally in an industrial sector.
- A degree in an Environmental, Engineering or Science based discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation, guidance and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
