Environmental Consultant
Contract Duration: 3-6 months, with potential for extension
Location: Greater Manchester

Rate: Circa £400-450 per day (dependent on experience), outside IR35

2-3 Days per week.

Are you an experienced Environmental specialist, ideally with an industrial background, ready for a new contract assignment?

If so, you could have the opportunity to work on a project focused on energy management in the Northwest, specifically around Greater Manchester. You'd be working with a growing food producer and distributor on a project that's set to be a long-term, part-time gig.

Key responsibilities of the Environmental Consultant will include:

1. Lead the execution of the environmental policy by proactively identifying areas for improvement, designing targeted action plans, and establishing robust procedures to enhance environmental performance.
2. Provide expert guidance to sites across the Northwest on carbon reporting, energy efficiency initiatives, and greenhouse gas emissions tracking to ensure compliance and sustainability goals are met.
3. Oversee the implementation of comprehensive environmental assessments organisation-wide, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and sustainability objectives.
4. Evaluate and define the scope of energy efficiency and management projects, ensuring they meet organisational needs and contribute to long-term environmental and operational goals.

The successful Environmental Consultant requires:

1. Demonstrable environmental, energy management and carbon reporting knowledge and experience, ideally in an industrial sector.
2. A degree in an Environmental, Engineering or Science based discipline.
3. Excellent knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation, guidance and standards.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
