Qualifications

Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Monday to Friday, 07:30-16:30

Based at Cranswick Country Foods, Preston, Staithes Road, Hull, HU12 8TB

Covering the following sites: Preston (HU12 8TB) / King George Dock (HU9 5NF) / Riverside (HU1 2ET) / Goole (DN14 6BZ)

We produce and supply premium food to the highest-profile UK grocery retailers, an array of customers in the food service sector, and other UK and global customers.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Site Director and with a dotted line to the HSE Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Manager will provide Directors and Senior Managers with appropriate technical support and guidance on environmental issues, proactively supporting and improving the site's environmental systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

This role includes the essential functions of ensuring current and future sustainability targets are met, liaising with all levels of the organisation to facilitate this. Also encompassed in this role is the requirement to be a key part of the second nature journey.

In addition, the Environmental and Sustainability Manager will manage the day-to-day running of the environmental systems to support the HSE function.

  • Qualifications: IEMA qualified
  • Experience: advising/managing environmental issues within the food or similar sectors
  • Knowledge: implementation of 14001/50001
  • Team Player: ability to work well within a team, supporting colleagues and the site, and contributing to a positive team environment. Ability to ask for assistance when required
  • Reliability: dependable and consistent attendance
  • Strong Work Ethic: a proactive and hardworking attitude, demonstrating dedication and efficiency in all tasks, with the ability to work with a diverse workforce and deliver results
