The Global Risk and Compliance division (GR&C) exists to enable the FNZ Group to safely achieve its strategic objectives and protect value; to support the growth and delivery of services and propositions to the quality our clients and regulators expect.
The Enterprise Risk Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the global risk framework to ensure the firm effectively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks across all categories of risk and areas of operation. This role involves leading risk management initiatives across jurisdictions, maintaining a proactive approach to emerging threats, and fostering a culture of risk awareness and resilience throughout the organization. The Enterprise Risk Officer will work closely with FNZ’s executive leadership, regulators, and stakeholders across regions and business units to ensure that risk strategies align with the firm’s strategic objectives and industry best practices. This role will lead and oversee a team of enterprise risk domain professionals, and enterprise GRC system, enterprise reporting and analytics subject matter experts.
Reporting directly to the Group CRO and serving as a member of her senior leadership team, contributing on both strategic and operational matters.
This role is ideal for an experienced risk leader with a deep understanding of financial services enterprise risk management, a commitment to ethical leadership, and the vision to build a robust risk program that supports the firm’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s enterprise risk management framework, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.
- Establish risk management objectives and key risk indicators (KRIs) that align with the firm’s risk appetite and overall business goals.
- Implement systems and processes to monitor, identify, and mitigate key risks across business functions and regions.
Risk Identification, Assessment & Mitigation:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and gap analyses across the enterprise to identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement risk controls, mitigation strategies, and remediation plans.
- Oversee risk monitoring programs, scenario analysis, and internal audits to ensure the effectiveness of the enterprise risk management framework.
Regulatory & Industry Risk Oversight:
- Stay informed on regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks affecting the financial services sector.
- Advise executive leadership on regulatory impacts and enterprise risk management strategies.
- Act as a key liaison with auditors and external stakeholders on risk-related matters, managing enterprise responses to inquiries and examinations.
Policy Development & Risk Culture:
- Develop, update, and enforce risk management policies and procedures that reflect the organization's strategic goals, regulatory obligations and industry best practices.
- Design and implement enterprise-wide risk training programs to enhance risk awareness and resilience across the organization.
- Foster a strong risk-aware culture by promoting accountability, risk-informed decision-making, and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
Governance, Reporting & Communication:
- Serve as deputy chair to the Group CRO at the Global Executive Risk Committee, ensuring oversight of the organization’s risk exposure and adherence to the internal risk management framework and policies.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Group CRO, executive team, and Group Board Risk Committee on risk trends, emerging threats, exposures, and mitigation strategies.
- Communicate risk expectations clearly and effectively, fostering a culture of transparency and proactive risk management.
Leadership & Development:
- Cultivate a strong global network of risk professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to risk excellence.
- Develop talent within the risk management function by providing coaching, performance feedback, and support for professional development.
- Ensure Regional CROs / CCOs and teams are aligned with the enterprise risk strategy and effectively managing local risk exposures.
- Provide oversight and guidance on global enterprise risk monitoring programs to ensure consistent risk management practices.
- Collaborate with Regional CROs to provide support, education, and training to enhance risk awareness and competency.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the regulatory and risk environments in which the organization operates and within the financial services industry.
- Provide enterprise risk consultancy to the wider organization.
- Serve as the policy owner for relevant enterprise risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure that annual risk-based assessments and stress testing exercises are systematically carried out across the global enterprise.
- Ensure that conflicts of interest and emerging risks are identified, assessed, and appropriately mitigated.
Experience required
Experience:
- Strong experience in risk management within the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior or global risk leadership role.
- Deep understanding of global risk frameworks, gap analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Proven track record of managing risk management programs in a complex, multinational environment.
Technical Skills:
- Experience designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise risk management frameworks, methodologies, policies, and risk control measures.
- Strong background in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and non-financial risks.
- Experience in stress testing, business continuity planning, and managing risk responses to global market disruptions and operational crises.
- Ability to interpret large-scale risk data, conduct trend analysis, and leverage predictive analytics for proactive risk management.
- Familiarity with global financial regulations, including Basel III/IV, Solvency II, IFRS 9, CCAR, ICAAP, and emerging risk regulatory frameworks.
Leadership & Communication:
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization and oversee cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex risk concepts for non-technical audiences.
