If you are passionate about providing insight, working with stakeholders and data to keep the Executive and Board informed, and you understand what great governance looks like and how this can be applied in different settings, we would love to hear from you!

A bit about the job:

In this role, you will understand how our business fits together and the way we deliver our strategy safely through streamlined, effective governance, keeping our senior management informed through insightful, forward-looking risk and control reporting.

‘Governance’ can mean many things, and this team, sitting in the 1st line Governance and Assurance (G&A) team offers a broad range of services to the business, in line with our team purpose ‘Helping the Business Execute the Strategy safely and at pace’.

Working collaboratively across the UK IWR (Insurance, Wealth, Retirement) team and with 2nd and 3rd line stakeholders, this team delivers 1st line risk and control reporting for our UK IWR Executive Risk Committee, Board Risk Committee, and other senior stakeholders. In conjunction with key stakeholders, the team is responsible for maintaining a suite of control frameworks to ensure the consistent management of key activities across the UK IWR business. The team is taking on new accountabilities (additional frameworks and new reporting requirements). The new role will support the team in absorbing this.

The role holder is responsible for working alongside colleagues & stakeholders inside and outside the team to support effective delivery of the Entity Reporting & Governance team plan.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience in risk and control management within the Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK Financial Services regulatory environment.
  • A keen collaborator and confident with the ability to build good relationships while providing effective challenge.
  • Skilled written communications, with the ability to identify the key points and present these concisely for the right impact and to drive the right action.
  • A good knowledge of how frameworks/standards can help to deliver effective governance & oversight would be beneficial.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Salary up to £47,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
