Outpatients is an integral part of the patient journey and provides support for ENT and Head and Neck Cancer. This is a busy department that will provide an exciting opportunity to an individual who wants to develop their professional role.

We are looking for a dynamic leader who will:

You will need to demonstrate working at a higher level of management or as a band 6.

Main duties of the job

You will operationally manage and support designated daily activity within the outpatients department of the Ear, Eye and Mouth Unit (EEMU) and TWH ENT outpatients unit.

You, together with the lead Matron, Matron, Clinical director, Consultants and the business management team to lead on service developments within the ENT outpatients services, to improve the quality of service provision and patient care.

Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse Adult Branch educated to Diploma / Degree / Masters level.
  • Evidence of continuing personal development.
  • Willingness to develop clinically, managerially and professionally.
  • Working toward master's level qualification.
  • ENT Qualification / experience.
  • Nurse Prescriber.
Experience
  • Broad experience of ENT and understanding of working within protocol led services.
  • Working knowledge of research and development.
  • Experience of managing a large team.
  • Participates within Research and Development forum.
  • Evidence of project management.
