EduCampus is a pioneer in the development of an online technology tutoring platform. We provide an exclusive platform of smart Learning Management System (LMS) integrated with a superior interactive Online Tutoring Class (OTC) to optimise the experience of students, tutors, and parents.

Job Description

Online tutors interact with students using the Internet and computer technology. The role of an online tutor can vary from helping students with homework or focusing on examination preparation to teaching full online courses. Tutors can access all the resources they need from their own home and have no commuting constraints. These sessions are more likely to happen during evenings and weekends.

Purpose

As an Online 1:1 Tutor, you’ll use your subject expertise to plan and teach bespoke one-to-one tutorial courses for the international students we match you with.

Benefits

Pay bands are calculated to be fair and consistent across all tutor experiences at EduCampus according to the tutor’s qualifications and experience. You’ll be part of our tutor network with access to future opportunities across our courses and our student’s network. The training and resources on teaching with us will also help support your professional development as an educator.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Complete induction training, including using our online platform and safeguarding to familiarise yourself with company procedures and logistical requirements.
  • Ensure you have access to a good quality audio and video feed for tutorials according to an agreed schedule.
  • Sessions will be recorded and available to the student and EduCampus.
  • Lead bespoke one-to-one tutorials online (10 x 2 hours/session, usually 1-2 session(s) per week).
  • Provide entry tests for each student in their chosen subject to understand an overview of the student’s learning status.
  • Produce a course proposal, an agreement of achieving a course’s goal for each student before starting, tailoring topics, content, and independent work to their background and interests.
  • Set clear rules for online behaviour during the tutorials, session name, Learning Outcome (LO), and homework before starting each session.
  • Be a professional tutor and be on time for all online tutorials.
  • Maintain a productive learning environment and good work ethic during tutorials.
  • Provide feedback about the student after completing each session.
  • Review student’s homework assignments and test scores, working through problem questions that the student did not answer correctly.
  • Set a progression test after every 3 sessions to check the learning progress of the student and identify areas for improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date on the current curriculum and latest teaching trends.
  • Share and discuss with our Head of Academic monthly to seek the best teaching methods and optimise learning progress for each student.
  • Provide mock examinations or tests to prepare students for real exams.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians about trouble areas or any issues that require attention.
  • Provide timely, brief written progress reports after each tutorial, including marking independent work submitted during the course to support student’s development.
  • At the end of the course, provide a mock test and write a report for each student to document their progress.
  • Report any technical problems to ensure the smooth running of the courses.
  • Report any welfare concerns so that students stay safe and happy during their time with us.
