English Teacher

Job Summary: As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students' literacy skills and helping them to express themselves confidently. Your passion for the subject will be crucial in making English lessons both enjoyable and educational.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students of varying abilities.
• Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking through creative and interactive teaching methods.
• Assess students' work regularly, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for improvement.
• Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet the needs of all learners.
• Support students' preparation for exams, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and resources within the department.
• Participate in school activities, including parent meetings, extracurricular activities, and school events.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and positive behaviour.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in English.
• Proven experience as an English Teacher would be ideal.
• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students, encouraging them to achieve their best.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
