Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming school. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for literature and language while ensuring academic progress. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as an English Teacher:

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

• Inspire and engage students in reading, writing, and critical analysis.

• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.

• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

• Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the English department.

• Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.

Ideal English Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.

• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).

• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills as an English Teacher.

• A commitment to student progress and achievement.

• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
