English Graduate Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor

Full-Time Salary: £90 - £110 per day

Are you an English Literature graduate with a passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact in students' lives? We are currently working with an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in vibrant West London, seeking English graduates to join their team as Learning Support Assistants or to help cover lessons in English and general subjects.

This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). By providing tailored and empathetic support, you'll help them overcome challenges and rebuild their confidence, empowering them to thrive academically and socially in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help, with a focus on SEND learners.
  • Identify the individual needs of SEND students and create tailored strategies to address their challenges.
  • Help students with SEN reintegrate into the classroom environment with improved confidence and self-esteem.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents, celebrating improvements and milestones.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, further supporting student development.

Requirements:

  • A degree in English Literature or a related field.
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students, particularly those with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
