Job description

Are you an experienced engineer with a knack for leading teams and delivering excellence in facilities management? Sodexo is looking for a Hard FM Team Leader to oversee and guide our site-based engineering team, ensuring seamless operations for key government infrastructure at DEFRA Border Control, Sevington, Ashford.

What you’ll do:
  1. Leading a team of engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance.
  2. Managing technical compliance, stock levels, and subcontractor coordination.
  3. Taking ownership of M&E services and infrastructure, ensuring health and safety standards are met or exceeded.
  4. Supporting out-of-hours reactive services and emergency call-outs.
  5. Acting as a key liaison with the client, Facilities Manager, and the Helpdesk Command Centre.
  6. Driving improvements in performance, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
What you bring:
  1. 5+ years' experience in building services/engineering.
  2. A Level 4 NVQ or equivalent in engineering.
  3. Strong technical skills and a background in managing safe systems of work.
  4. Leadership experience in a technical maintenance environment.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CAFM systems like Maximo.
  6. Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
  7. IOSH Managing Safety certification.
  8. HND in a relevant engineering field.
  9. Experience within the Facilities Management industry.
