Maintenance | Leyland | Full Time | Permanent


PURPOSE OF ROLE

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of all machinery in the production area. To provide pro-active and reactive engineering cover to maintain and improve the performance of the plant.


Principal Accountabilities

HEALTH & SAFETY

  1. Responsible for Health and Safety of themselves and all personnel on site.
  2. Records and actions near misses for their designated areas.
  3. To define and promote safe working practices within all operating procedures.

FOOD SAFETY - QUALITY

  1. Ensure all equipment is Food safe and fit for purpose under normal operating conditions through scheduled daily checks and PM activities.
  2. To be trained to a L2 Food Safety Standard.
  3. To be trained to L2 HACCP Food Safety Standards.
  4. Reports any Food Safety incidents that occur on shift to the Engineering Shift Manager.
  5. Review the Quality action log and ensure assigned actions are closed out.
  6. Workshop standards.
  7. GMP Audit to >90%.
  8. Ensure the workshop is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times.
  9. All oils, lubricants and sprays to be stored in the correct locked cupboards.
  10. Tool room equipment (Lathe, Miller, Pedestal drill, grinder) is locked off and signed for when in use and signed back after use.

PEOPLE

  1. Understand the Engineering Teams KPI's and objectives.
  2. To progress matters of concern with the Engineering Manager.
  3. Ensure consistency with all employees in line with company policies and procedures.
  4. Liaise with supporting departments when necessary to ensure good engineering service.

ENGINEERING

  1. Planned Maintenance.
  2. Check the assigned line PM compliance on a daily basis.
  3. Shire PM - Create PM and Corrective work orders.
  4. Check and control Corrective WO's for specific lines.
  5. Ensure all designated area equipment has the correct levels of critical spares.
  6. Check and understand the operational and maintenance requirements of equipment in the designated areas.
  7. PM task lists - check and update relevant information.
  8. CI - Looks to improve equipment and plans to execute the work.
  9. Ensures required stock levels are correct and notify the stores if not.
  10. To interrogate the Engineering and Production downtime logs. Identify top issues and plan to close out with Engineering Managers and Team Leaders.
  11. Contacts OEM to liaise regarding identification of parts required - Submits quotations for Manager approval.

REPORTING

  1. Health and safety issues.
  2. Food safety issues.
  3. Ongoing issues from the previous shift to the Team Leader.
  4. Identify any urgent parts required.
  5. Ensure planned CMP's are completed.
  6. Ensure the Engineering Shift log is completed and up to date with the Team Leader.
  7. Monitor production equipment by ensuring the daily checks are completed on the designated line by the Engineers on shift and then recorded on the correct documentation, accurately and during their shift. Follow up any actions required and record work through the CMP process.
  8. Record PM and corrective work through the Shire PM system. Training required with sign off.
