We have a current opportunity for an Engineering Stores Buyer - Crewe on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Crewe. For further information about this position please apply.

The Role

To analyse client data to ensure spend is being driven to the correct supplier & category to secure best price & savings opportunity. To source stock and/or non-stock items from new and existing Suppliers in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal procedure(s). To maintain a continuous improvement culture to ensure delivery of consistent savings and world-class client service.

Key Skills/Experience Needed

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with clients and suppliers.
  2. Experienced in negotiating and challenging the norm.
  3. Can demonstrate a collaborative approach.
  4. Can-do attitude - the ambition and drive to challenge, deliver excellence, and be positive about change.
  5. Resilient and robust - the intellect and strength of character to deliver a key role in a demanding business.
  6. Self-motivated.
  7. Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong ICT skills with proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  9. Good working knowledge of SAP applications.
  10. Previous buying experience (i.e., Engineering or manufacturing environment) desirable.
