Job description

Henderson Brown is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturer based in North Yorkshire, who are looking for an Engineering Shift Leader to oversee a team of Engineers for their site.


Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prioritise, and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance work to ensure plant availability.
  2. Ensure all work complies with safety, food safety, legal standards, and company policies, maintaining accurate documentation.
  3. Leading a team of Engineers, overseeing their daily tasks and performance.
  4. Monitor and escalate Health and Safety, Food Safety, and audit standards, working with shift managers to resolve issues.
  5. Support the technical and operations teams with audit, retail, and food safety requirements.
  6. Drive Health, Safety, and Environment improvement initiatives and actions.
  7. Organise planned work and coordinate reactive works and plant availability prioritisation.
  8. Supervise and organise reactive contractors and contracted service requirements, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.

Requirements:
  1. Level 3 Equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, i.e. HNC/NVQ
  2. Experience in Lean manufacturing principles.
  3. Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  4. Knowledge of HACCP.
  5. Proven leadership experience with a focus on coaching and mentoring teams.
