Job description

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager (Control & Instrumentation)

Location:Barrow-In-Furness, Frimley, or Filton (Hybrid) – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Day to day support to the Principal Engineering Manager – Control & Instrumentation
  • Provide leadership, support and governance oversight to the In-service Support Engineers responsible for the Control & Instrumentation, Platform Management System (PMS) and Internal Communications Systems (ICS)
  • Supporting the Engineering Team in maturing the delivery strategies in context of Whole Boat System Integration for In-service Platforms
  • Provide leadership to the Engineering Team in the review and acceptance of deliverable documentation
  • Provide leadership and support to the Engineering Team in Design Development and Declaration of compliance against contract requirements
  • Liaise with external customers as required to foster collaborative working relationships and ensure requirements are adequately articulated, understood and met
  • Work with BAE Systems’ supply chain and project management departments and collaborate with partners to ensure a fit for purpose solution to the requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Engineering Qualification, ideally BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a STEM subject
  • CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle, ideally within final design phase and later phases experience
  • Competent in diagnosing faults in complex Electrical/Electronic systems

Desirable:

  • Experience with complex systems design, development, testing and commissioning
  • Marine system and setting to work and commissioning experience
  • Knowledge of developing Methods Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Development of engineering management and delivery plans
