The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will:

1. Lead the site's engineering function through a period of transformation and investment.
2. Build a strong, skilled engineering team from varied backgrounds - identifying training needs and embedding development pathways.
3. Develop and implement a clear maintenance strategy focused on uptime, reliability and safety.
4. Drive a proactive engineering culture rooted in accountability, responsiveness and service to production.
5. Deliver capital projects to expand site capability and futureproof the operation.
6. Ensure site compliance across all H&S, Environmental, and regulatory standards.
7. Work closely with site leadership to integrate engineering within wider operational planning.
8. Manage contractors and suppliers effectively, ensuring high standards and value for money.
9. Drive improvements through the use of data, KPIs and modern CMMS tools.

The Candidate

The successful Engineering Manager will:

1. Have a background in engineering leadership within food or FMCG manufacturing.
2. Be confident developing teams with mixed experience levels - identifying gaps, delivering training and setting clear expectations.
3. Be experienced in supporting new site or brownfield start-up operations.
4. Be passionate about standards, compliance and continuous improvement.
5. Bring a track record of leading capital investment and delivering ROI.
6. Thrive in a fast-moving environment where autonomy, resilience and a hands-on approach are essential.
7. Communicate clearly and influence across all levels of the business.
