TGRC invites applications for the role of Engineering Geologist, dedicated to supporting a variety of renewable energy and infrastructure projects. This position is based in Southampton and is key to our mission of fostering sustainable development.

Compensation: £45 per hour
As an Engineering Geologist, you will play a critical role in the assessment and analysis of geological data for our project sites. Your responsibilities will include:
Geological Mapping and Sampling: Conduct comprehensive field studies to gather rock and soil samples, and create geological maps that inform project planning and execution.
Site Investigation: Lead site investigations to evaluate the geotechnical properties of project locations, including overseeing drilling and sample analysis.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced software to analyze geological data and generate detailed reports that guide design and construction decisions.
Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate geological risks related to projects and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Collaborative Project Management: Engage with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers to ensure geological considerations are integrated into all phases of project development.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to environmental regulations and best practices throughout all geological tasks.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in engineering geology, ideally within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
Expertise in geological software and GIS applications.
Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication abilities and proficiency in report writing.
