Engineering Geologist

The Vacancy

Ian Farmer Associates, a member of RSK Group Ltd, are looking for an Engineering Geologist to join their team in Newcastle. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Ian Farmer Associates is a geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation company with offices covering the majority of the United Kingdom. It is further supported by a fully accredited UKAS laboratory, making RSK Group one of the UK's largest site investigation service providers.

Due to continued growth and exciting new projects, Ian Farmer Associates need an experienced Engineering Geologist to help with a varied new project workload. Details of the position are below:

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervision of ground investigations, including cable percussion, rotary, and window sampling crews
2. Trial pitting / Logging of soil and rock to BS5930 / Eurocode 7
3. Project Management of ground investigations
4. Production of Phase 1 Desk Studies
5. Assistance in the preparation of Factual and Interpretive Reports

Person Specification:

Ideally, you will have the following attributes:

1. A geology / earth sciences degree
2. Good time keeping
3. Good communication skills
4. Good Project Management skills
5. A full UK driving licence
6. Willing to travel and work away from home
7. Be within a reasonable travelling distance of the office base, or be prepared to re-locate
8. CSCS Card & First Aid Training
9. SSSTS
