Due to continued growth, my client is looking to grow their geo-environmental consultancy division. In this role, you will:

- Discover the fundamentals of the geo-environmental industry, including contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical design.

- Participate in a variety of challenging and innovative projects across residential, commercial, and civil engineering industries, including having opportunities to manage projects through the entire life-cycle of a construction programme.

- Willing to develop their proficiency in fieldwork techniques, production and management of data, and both factual and interpretative reporting.
- Able to apply a commercial appraisal to projects, ensuring that value for money is paramount in all work undertaken.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordination, supervision, and management of ground investigations, including Phase 1 (desk-top) studies, Phase 2 (intrusive) investigations, and subsequent monitoring and remediation works.
- Understanding geotechnical/geological and environmental aspects of site investigation.
- Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are followed during all fieldwork practices.
- Accurate and precise recording of fieldwork data, and clear, concise presentation of such data.
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and staff in both office and field settings.
- Preparing client reports, including environmental risk assessments, remedial recommendations, foundation recommendations, and coal mining risk assessments.
- Assisting senior staff with preparations of reports, drawings, models, and proposals.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- First degree in Geology or related subject, ideally with practical modules encompassing fieldwork.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Based within an easily commutable distance to Manchester.
- Full right to work in the UK, both now and in the future without the need for sponsorship.
