Due to continued growth, my client is looking to grow their geo-environmental consultancy division. In this role, you will:

2. Discover the fundamentals of the geo-environmental industry, including contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical design.
3. Be given the chance to learn and develop professionally in a practical, hands-on manner in both the office and our sites across the UK.
4. Participate in a variety of challenging and innovative projects across residential, commercial, and civil engineering industries, including having opportunities to manage projects through the entire life-cycle of a construction programme.

The ideal individual for this role will be:

2. Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrable energy, drive, and enthusiasm.
3. Willing to develop their proficiency in fieldwork techniques, production and management of data, and both factual and interpretative reporting.
4. Able to apply a commercial appraisal to projects, ensuring that value for money is paramount in all work undertaken.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

1. Co-ordination, supervision, and management of ground investigations, including Phase 1 (desk-top) studies, Phase 2 (intrusive) investigations, and subsequent monitoring and remediation works.
2. Understanding geotechnical/geological and environmental aspects of site investigation.
3. Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are followed during all fieldwork practices.
4. Accurate and precise recording of fieldwork data, and clear, concise presentation of such data.
5. Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and staff in both office and field settings.
6. Preparing client reports, including environmental risk assessments, remedial recommendations, foundation recommendations, and coal mining risk assessments.
7. Assisting senior staff with preparations of reports, drawings, models, and proposals.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

1. First degree in Geology or related subject, ideally with practical modules encompassing fieldwork.
2. A full, clean driving licence.
3. Based within an easily commutable distance to Manchester.
4. Full right to work in the UK, both now and in the future without the need for sponsorship.
