Engineering Business Partner

To manage engineering services and programmes within the allocated business units and alignment with senior management teams for strategical planning and delivery of the engineering service. The Engineering Business Partner will plan, organise, co-ordinate and structure all maintenance and repair works at sites under their responsibility and will ensure works are carried out in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:

1. Provide competent and comprehensive engineering management and support to senior / regional operations teams within the company.
2. Responsible for ensuring assets are in a safe and useable condition throughout the business function.
3. Develop and deliver strategical plans for assigned business areas for engineering incorporating business objectives and strategies.
4. Develop standards, specifications and application for the business unit assets including maintenance strategy and investment scopes.
5. Provide a comprehensive and task based way of working to support senior operations teams and deliver engineering requirements efficiently.
6. Provide clear overall strategical inputs to the engineering team for the business units to assist in direction and goals for the engineering team.
7. Assist in the development of capital expenditure plans for fuel depots and terminals.
8. Effectively manage the computerised maintenance management system, ensuring all preventative planned maintenance tasks, breakdowns and remedial works are managed and acted upon in a timely manner.
9. Responsible for reviewing and understanding inspection, maintenance and engineering reports, identifying remedial works and effectively planning and action tracking required works through to completion.
10. Ensure preventative planned maintenance task schedules are appropriately set for respective sites, ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance is maintained at all times.
11. Assist in the development and review of maintenance policies & procedures.
12. Provide and deliver detailed scope and maintenance plans for assets within the business unit.
13. Carry out assurance reviews and assessments on key / safety critical assets within the business function.
14. Responsible for engineering contractor management throughout the business unit, reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are planned specific to site.
15. Supervising high risk works and permit to work authority for the business unit.

PEOPLE:

1. Provide competent engineering management to energy solutions business depots.
2. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, provide reporting, analytical data and solutions to tasks and strategy issues.
3. Align with senior / regional operations teams day to day to support and manage engineering within the function.
4. Communicate and align with “Core Values” and business objectives within the team.
5. Coach and support staff within the business unit.
6. Managing contractor interface with operations within the business unit.

FINANCE:

1. Responsible to develop, monitor and manage works within the R&M engineering budgets.
2. A key role in supporting the Head of Engineering in the management and forecasting of R&M budgets.
3. Develop detailed work scopes to allow works to be accurately priced/tendered, works to be competitively tendered / multiple quotes received and reviewed to ensure best prices are secured.
4. Responsible for ensuring relevant financial approvals are received as required to deliver tasks within defined timescales.
5. Responsible for coordinating trend analysis and obtaining relevant data for strategical input to the head of engineering.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

1. Senior operations and business unit management stakeholders.
2. Strategical future planning and inputs to the teams.
3. Support and assistance to the Head of Engineering for overall engineering management and delivery.

HSE:

1. Responsible for contractor management, review of RAMS and permitting arrangements, contractor assurance and interface with operations.
2. Responsible for the management and safe delivery of high risk activities and hazardous works.
3. Lead a positive Health and Safety culture in line with Engineering Safety F1rst principles.
4. Provide competent and technical assurances for engineering works.
5. Review engineering HSE performance within assigned business units and provide feedback on improvements.
6. Responsible for personal safety, that of the team, colleagues, contractors, visitors and customers within the work place.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

1. Hold a relevant engineering qualification within either a specific discipline.
2. Successful track record and experience in management of engineering within a hazardous industry.
3. Hold a H&S qualification or requisite expertise.
4. Have experience of Engineering within a high hazardous environment.
5. Ability to develop standards and specifications against legislation and industry best practices.
