Role: Engineering Assistant Position

Location: Histon, Cambridge

Working Hours: Monday to Sunday, 5/7 days - 7am – 5pm, overtime will be offered as and when required

Rate of Pay: Up to £21.50 per hour depending on experience

Capacity of Role: Temporary assignment for a 2 week duration

Our client is an engineering business looking to expand their team with engineering assistants to be part of a site shutdown. Candidates will need to be familiar with using hand and power tools and will be happy to work in a multi-skilled position. This role is to start on the 12th April, so candidates must be free to start on this date.

Main Duties:

1. Assisting the engineers in the maintenance of site equipment
2. Using hand and power tools to complete finished tasks
3. Helping the engineers with a variety of tasks
4. Ensuring all health and safety policies and procedures are upheld and adhered to
5. Working as part of a team to fulfill required and allocated duties
6. Communicating any problems to management onsite
7. Fitting duties alongside the engineers

Candidate Attributes:

1. Experience working in a multi-skilled role
2. Previous experience within an engineering-based environment
3. Working knowledge using hand and power tools
4. Basic engineering knowledge to ensure duties are fulfilled smoothly and to a high standard
5. Strong communication skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Willingness to work overtime as required
8. Own transport is required due to the location of the premises
