JOB DESCRIPTION
An Engineer in the Build Strategy team will work to develop, maintain, expand, and refine the Build Strategy and associated analyses and evidence. The Build Strategy is a key source of information to align Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI) functions, sub-contractors, and customers on the approach for the construction of ships at Irving Shipbuilding.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and resolve potential issues to construction.
  • Perform capacity planning using simulation software for key work centers.
  • Document all required aspects of the Build Strategy.
  • Produce and contribute to the creation of the Build Schedule.
  • Collaborate with multiple ISI functional teams to improve and prepare Shipyard processes for production.
  • Review engineering documentation for application to and requirements for Build.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognized Degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (PEng) required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a complex industrial and manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of design for build principles and their application.
  • Strong technical writing skills, able to author, manage and maintain build procedure documentation.
  • Strong knowledge and ability for Data Analysis & Capture.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze engineering data and understand how to translate it into a production context.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively amongst a team and external stakeholders.
