Job description

City Law Firm Seeks An Experienced Employment Lawyer for 3-6 Month Fixed Term Contract

An established, dynamic mid-tier law firm in central London is seeking a qualified employment lawyer with more than three years’ post-qualification experience to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both contentious and non-contentious employment law, including litigation and corporate support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a diverse caseload of employment law matters, both contentious and non-contentious.
  2. Represent clients in employment tribunal proceedings, as well as handling advisory work.
  3. Provide corporate support, advising on employment issues in mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  4. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
  5. Advise clients on HR matters, employee relations, and compliance with employment legislation.
  6. Work closely with senior lawyers and clients to deliver tailored legal advice and solutions.
  7. Contribute to business development and firm-wide initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Qualified solicitor with over three years’ post-qualification experience in employment law.
  2. Experience in both employment litigation (tribunal and High Court) and corporate support.
  3. Strong technical expertise in employment law, including redundancy, discrimination, TUPE, and contract law.
  4. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  5. Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage a demanding workload.
  6. Client-focused with a commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice.
