Fantastic new role and an opportunity to join this market-leading Employment Law team working alongside ex City lawyers at the top of their game, to be based and working closely with the lead Partner in their Guildford offices.

The Role

From day one there will be a chance to get involved in a varied range of both contentious and non-contentious work, primarily acting for the firm’s high profile employer clients but also on occasions acting for senior/executive level employees. The contentious work in particular can be complex and high value so you will be able to really develop your technical expertise as well as your client relationship skills.

The team is fully supportive of their junior lawyers and you will have significant influence on how you want to progress, including you will be encouraged to get involved in business development activities including taking an active role in seminars and networking events.

You

The ideal candidate for this role will perhaps already have at least three years of post-qualification experience, handling wide ranging employment law work including HR matters, corporate support and tribunal cases. You will have experience of managing and complying with directions including discovery and witness statement preparation, and will be able to advise on disciplinary proceedings, grievances, redundancies and discrimination issues. On the non-contentious side you may already have worked on preparing contracts of employment, policies and handbooks, and advising on settlement agreements.

Most importantly, you will have plenty of ambition to work in a leading Employment Law team, where you can learn and be mentored by senior and experienced colleagues. You will be a team player, keen to get involved and always able to offer practical, commercial advice to clients.
