A global asset management firm is seeking to hire an EM Sovereign Credit Research Analyst to join the Emerging Market Debt team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform detailed analysis on sovereign debt and monitor sovereign risk from emerging market issuers.
  2. Assess economic fundamentals, geopolitical factors, policy making, and valuations to determine overall credit worthiness.
  3. Conduct country analysis and develop in-depth knowledge of economies and markets.
  4. Work closely alongside Portfolio Manager and communicate research ideas.
  5. Participate in investment debate with the wider EMD team presenting research on relevant countries and regions.
  6. Produce research publications for internal and external audiences.
  7. Collaborate with other investment teams, as well as Client and Marketing groups to produce content for market commentaries when necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. 3-7 years of sovereign research/analysis experience.
  2. Solid understanding of macroeconomics, capital markets, and public debt instruments.
  3. Excellent academic background.
  4. Independent thinker who is intellectually curious and able to operate with a strong sense of initiative and ownership.
  5. Strong team player mindset.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while providing high quality output.
