DESCRIPTION

The AWS Life Science R&D Strategist is responsible for driving new business opportunities and revenue growth within the largest global pharmaceutical companies. This role requires a deep understanding of the life science R&D industry, the ability to identify and qualify high-potential opportunities, and the skills to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions that address our customers' evolving needs. You will work closely with the sales and technical teams to identify, qualify, and close new customer R&D workloads. In addition, this individual is responsible for identifying industry-wide R&D trends to inform AWS product development and thought leadership with our customer base.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Developing and implementing strategy to grow presence in new accounts and expand existing relationships with leading BioPharma clients
  2. Leveraging market intelligence, industry trends, and customer insights to identify high-value sales opportunities and craft targeted sales strategies in R&D
  3. Collaborating closely with sales, technical, and product teams to understand customer requirements, propose innovative cloud-based solutions, and secure new business
  4. Maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently exceeding sales targets through strategic account planning and execution
  5. Providing strategic recommendations to the leadership team on product roadmap, go-to-market strategies, and other initiatives to better serve the life science R&D community
  6. Staying abreast of industry developments, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to anticipate customer needs and position our offerings accordingly
  7. Providing feedback and insights to the product and marketing teams to help improve AWS life science offerings

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in technology related sales, business development or equivalent
  • Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS and technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
