Our client, a well-known merchandiser and print expert, based in Bootle, Liverpool are currently looking for an experienced Embroidery Machine Operator.


This is an excellent role for the right candidate offering multiple benefits.


In this role you will instil best working practices within the Embroidery Department, showing efficiency, sharing knowledge and always looking for ways to improve the department. You will hold a broad understanding of company/departmental challenges and nurture this understanding throughout all team members to encourage positivity and to build positive working relationships with other departments.


Shift Pattern:

Monday to Thursday 8 am to 5 pm
Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm


Pay Rate:

£12.66


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Loading a design from Wilcom to the USB
  2. Editing designs for different materials in Wilcom
  3. Setting Embroidery TEAM NAME text/initials in Wilcom
  4. Altering design sizes in Wilcom
  5. Setting Thread colours in Wilcom
  6. Creating new colourways in Wilcom
  7. Printing Running Sheets in Wilcom
  8. Turning Embroidery Machine On
  9. Turning Individual embroidery heads on/off
  10. Load designs onto the machine/set frame size on machine/check design range
  11. Rotate design if needed
  12. Set thread colour sequence
  13. Setting/checking Stitch sweep length
  14. Setting embroidery thickness
  15. Select best thread/needle weight for designs
  16. Inserting the bobbin thread / Winding Bobbin Thread
  17. Changing Needles
  18. Framing up with all frame types
  19. Selecting correct backing paper suitable for design
  20. Understanding when/how to use Water soluble film
  21. Inserting frame to the machine
  22. Repairing thread breaks, rewinding machine
  23. Framing up bucket hats at centre point accurately
  24. Un-framing/removing backing paper without distorting design
  25. Designs fully trimmed and quality checked at point of coming off the machine
  26. Embroidery head cleaning to a maintenance plan
  27. Regular needle changing to a maintenance plan
  28. Oiling machine heads
  29. Keeping updated stock levels
  30. Identifying best re-order points for low stocks
  31. Line of communication for re-ordering
  32. Order Checking Standards
  33. Order Workflow
  34. To always observe printing and pressing operation to detect defects in print/application that indicate machine malfunction and notify Line Manager of malfunction urgently
  35. To perform preventative maintenance and clean machines on a daily basis
  36. To understand the specific operational requirements for Key Contracts and implement best working practices around them
  37. To effectively ensure all customer deadlines are met
  38. To notify the sales contact and/or Line Manager at the earliest opportunity if a deadline can't be met to discuss reasons, solutions and to implement a plan of action for completion
  39. To look for and highlight efficiency improvements
  40. To work within the Health and Safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment
  41. To hold an understanding of Company/departmental challenges that will assist in building positive and effective working relationships throughout the Company

  13. As production facility is so diverse at times you may be required to work in other departments where demand is higher

Please note - work requires moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing duties of this job, you will regularly lift, sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
