Job description

Avena is an established, fast-growing business providing secure and sustainable destruction services across the UK & Europe. We’re on an exciting recruitment drive as we continue to scale, backed by strong investment in our future and our people.

We’ve recently moved into a purpose-built facility in Dereham, complete with state-of-the-art facilities, gym, breakout areas including pool table, inspiring workspaces.

Our team thrives in a friendly, supportive environment with regular business events, great incentives, and a company-wide profit share scheme. If you’re looking to join a winning team with a clear vision and exciting future, Avena is the place to be.

We’re looking for a CRM & Email Marketing Specialist to build on the strong momentum we’ve already established in our email marketing efforts. This role will be key to strengthening our outbound and customer marketing strategies, driving targeted email campaigns, improving CRM data quality, and increasing engagement with both cold and warm audiences.

The successful candidate will take ownership of all email marketing activity, allowing internal resources to focus on strategic priorities, while helping us scale our outreach, automate key journeys, and unlock new opportunities for lead generation and revenue growth. This isn’t starting from scratch – it’s about continuing to build and optimise on what’s already been achieved.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute email campaigns for cold prospecting and customer retention.
  2. Plan, build, and send regular mail shots to targeted prospect and customer lists.
  3. Manage and optimise our CRM (Hubspot) to ensure accurate data segmentation and campaign targeting.
  4. Utilise Cognism to source and enrich prospect data for outreach.
  5. Maintain and cleanse prospect and customer databases to improve deliverability and engagement.
  6. Create automated email sequences to nurture leads and drive conversions.
  7. Analyse campaign performance, reporting on key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
  8. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align email strategies with overall business goals.
  9. Assisting the Marketing Manager with any marketing related ad-hoc or project requests.

Requirements:

  1. B2B/B2C experience in email marketing and CRM management.
  2. Strong working knowledge of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar).
  3. Experience with CRM systems (Ideally hubspot) and list segmentation for targeted campaigns.
  4. Familiarity with data sourcing tools such as Cognism or similar platforms.
  5. Proficient in building and optimising email workflows, automation, and sequences.
  6. Strong understanding of email performance metrics and reporting.
  7. Comfortable working with data, including importing, cleaning, and managing large contact lists.
  8. Solid knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data privacy regulations.
  9. Excellent written communication and copywriting skills tailored for email.
  10. Ability to work independently, manage multiple campaigns, and meet deadlines.
  11. A proactive mindset with a willingness to test, learn, and optimise.
  12. Able to provide examples or data from previous campaigns to demonstrate effectiveness and results (e.g., engagement rates, conversion improvements, lead generation impact).

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Right to work in the UK – not requiring sponsorship.
  2. Driving license and access to own vehicle.
  3. Willingness to travel if required for team meetings or marketing activities.
  4. Highly computer literate with a strong understanding of general computer use, file management, and common software tools.
  5. Strong time management and organisation skills.

We look forward to receiving your application.
