Job summary

Our client, a large Defence supplier, is looking for an Electronics Test Technician to join them on a permanent basis at their site in Farnborough.

Key skills required for this role

• Due to the nature of the role, we are only able to consider sole British nationals and applicants must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
• Fully onsite in Farnborough.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join the Operations Department. The role will require the ability to troubleshoot to component level using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), circuit diagrams, and debug software. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for fault finding to component level on both RF modules and complex CCAs, performing assembly/test of highly complex assemblies used in military communications. The role will involve some design/development and improvements to existing processes and procedures for new products working to tight timescales.

What the role will involve:

• Working closely with other departments (Operations Test/Troubleshoot, Manufacturing Engineering, QA, Program Management) to ensure a successful outcome.
• Test Procedures - may be required to assist with the preparation of production test procedures from engineering specifications to assure that the product is being adequately tested in every parameter required.
• Assist on cost reduction and records to identify problem areas in test.

Required experience and skills:

• Strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
• Broad knowledge of component level troubleshooting
• RF or Digital CCAs knowledge and experience would be desirable
• Radio communications background or experience
• HNC/HND/Graduate Degree with substantial years of related experience
