2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship… we’re just getting started. We don’t follow the status quo, we’re here to challenge the competition, and we want you to join us.

The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.

We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. General Summary

This position reports to the Electronics Workshop Team Leader or their designee; located in Banbury, UK. The Electronics Technician is responsible for the manufacture, maintenance and testing of harnesses, sensors, and electronic assemblies at the factory. The electronic technician will assist with the management of the electronics workshop ensuring all tooling, test equipment and stock are maintained. The role will also include supporting car build, test and race events when required.

General Responsibilities

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Carry out duties as assigned by the Electronics Workshop Team Leader or their designee in addition to the key responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the trackside electronics team and purchasing to ensure the correct level of spares and consumables are available to all events.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Electronics Workshop Team leader.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture a range of harnesses, sensors and electronic assemblies for use on and off car.
  • Support factory race and test car build ensuring all electronic units, sensors and wiring harnesses are fitted correctly.
  • Attend race and test events as part of the electronics trackside team as required.
  • Raise Faults and highlight quality deficiency noted during parts manufacturing and car build.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of in-house test rigs and equipment.
  • Follow procedures provided by the System Engineers to calibrate and test sensors and electronic assemblies, both on-car and at the factory.
  • Take ownership of Cirris harnesses testing in-house.
  • Contribute to the definition of the Code of Practice for on and off car installations, design/manufacturing standards and operational processes and procedures.
  • Support and feedback to the Electronics Design Engineer with regards to the design and installation of chassis wiring and sensors.
Education And Work Experience

GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Further education including electronics training to HNC level, desirable. Previous experience of working in a high-level motorsport environment is essential.

Specialized Knowledge And Skills
  • Experience of manual PCB loading and fine pitch soldering – Desirable.
  • Electrical wiring within enclosures e.g. panel wiring, test boxes, rigs. - Desirable.
  • Electro-mechanical assembly manufacture including experience using manual/power tools – Desirable.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of working with Raychem System 25 and motorsport/aerospace connectors.
  • Strong technical background in racing car electrical and electronic systems.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
Equipment And Applications
  • Experience using Cirris test equipment would be desirable, but training can be provided if required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g. Dynamics 365).
  • Motorsport harness manufacture tooling and soldering experience.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
Work Environment Physical Demands

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
