The role will be responsible for the efficient execution of complex electronic assembly test and diagnostic activities in the plant. The role will also support all the test equipment related maintenance activities and the commissioning of custom, purpose-built test equipment solutions to meet the overall business objectives within a mix of products ranging from low to high volume intrinsically safe products. The ideal candidate will have experience with NI equipment and software including C/C++, TestStand, and LabView development, as well as a sound knowledge of PCBA and Final Product testing.
What you’ll do:
- Efficient execution of complex electronic assembly test and diagnostic activities in the plant.
- Support all test equipment related maintenance activities and the commissioning of custom test equipment solutions.
- Work with the engineering department to define and develop cost-effective testing strategies and techniques.
- Design, implement, and maintain test rigs suitable for production test PCBs.
- Deploy procured test equipment effectively into the manufacturing environment.
- Support capital investment plans to ensure all test solutions meet ongoing business needs.
- Create requirements specifications and robust statements of work for procurement of test equipment and software.
- Regularly review all test equipment hardware and software during every phase of manufacturing.
- Write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation and provide training to relevant personnel.
- Ensure all test equipment is compliant with relevant safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree level in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience with software and hardware within Test Engineering.
Skills:
- An understanding of electronic analogue and digital circuits with fault finding/diagnosis experience.
- Hardware skills within a range of test systems such as ICT, Flying Probe, HV, and Final Product Testing.
- Programming skills within the Electronic Manufacturing Industry, preferably using NI Teststand, LabView, C or C++, Labwindows CVI.
- Works well within a team, has good problem-solving skills and time management.
- Sub-contractor supplier management experience.
- Availability to develop and modify software solutions using NI Teststand, LabView, ANSI C, and LabWindows CVI languages.
- Support diagnosis and remedial actions to facilitate product rework.
- Knowledge of SQL and MySQL databases.
- Active participation in a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensuring the adoption of best practices.
- Demonstration of excellent problem-solving skills; a Six-Sigma background would be valuable.
