Job description

Electrical Technician(s) - Kirkbymoorside

Hours - 37 hours per week - 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday (flexi-time is available)

A global leader in subsea technology is seeking Electrical Technicians to join its team in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. Specialising in the design and manufacture of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Trenchers, and Submarine Rescue Systems, this innovative company delivers high-performance solutions for deep-water intervention operations worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, assembling and testing electrical and electronic components used in demanding offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assemble electrical and electronic subassemblies from schematics, drawings, or verbal instructions.
  2. Wiring, soldering, and assembling harnesses, PCBs, control consoles, connectors, and transformer assemblies.
  3. Perform troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
  4. Work with low voltage AC/DC panel wiring, high-voltage installations, and control/data systems.
  5. Meet build time targets to maintain department efficiency.
  6. Ensure quality and safety compliance in line with ISO9001 standards.
  7. Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices.

What We're Looking For:
Essential Skills & Experience:
  1. Experience in electrical/electronic assembly and shop operations (1-5 years preferred).
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  3. Knowledge of low and high voltage installations, control/data systems, and fibre optic handling.
  4. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  5. Schedule, quality, and safety awareness in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal Background:
  1. ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferred but not essential).
  2. IEEE 18th Edition accreditation (advantageous).
  3. Experience with production processes and electrical systems.
  4. Some travel may be required (not essential).
