Job description

Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and experienced Engineering Technician to join our team. As a highly competent and multi-disciplined engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and production equipment. With a strong understanding of electrical and control systems, you will be the go-to person for diagnosis and correction of equipment problems, maintenance of facilities, and installation of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out diagnosis and correction of equipment problems and maintenance of facilities and production equipment.
  2. Install, test, inspect, and commission new electrical equipment.
  3. Calibrate instrumentation, following training and guidelines.
  4. Rectify deviations in fixed wiring inspection and testing, and DSEAR compliance.
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and improve maintenance procedures, in compliance with GMP.
  6. Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers on issues and tasks.
  7. Provide feedback on engineering tasks, including root cause analysis and outstanding issues.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficient in using WORKMATE, EDMS, BEAMEX, DRAWING DATABASE, and MICROSOFT OFFICE.
  2. Understanding of control of change, safety and risk assessment, and waste handling systems.

Critical Tasks:

  1. Work safely, without endangering yourself, others, or plant equipment.
  2. Adhere to safe isolation procedures (LOTO, voltage checks).
  3. Participate in safety tours and risk assessments.
  4. Attend mandatory training.
  5. Keep work areas tidy.

Critical Skills:

  1. Plan and schedule tasks effectively with the customer department.
  2. Work with autonomy, seeking advice when necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Train apprentices, coworkers, and stakeholders in relevant tasks and systems.
  2. Supervise contractors when required.
  3. Generate ideas to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
  4. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in two engineering disciplines.
  2. Strong site knowledge.
  3. Experience with similar equipment and systems.
