Electrical Supervisor– Civil Nuclear

Full Time

Site Based - Hinkley Point B Somerset (November 2025 Onwards)

The Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all electrical, controls and instrumentation systems during the construction of the UDG’s at site at EDF NNB’s Hinkley Point C, in order to achieve required project delivery to the build schedule, whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. From November 2025 primarily this job will be site based at Hinkley Point B Power Station in Somerset UK

What you will be doing

You will ensure that the Installer delivers the build to specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The post-holder will work closely with the commercial department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that the projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be Technical Lead and represent RR CN UK Ltd at site during the Installation and Commissioning phases. Act as Senior Authorised Person / technical specialist with overall guidance & advise to ensure project success.
  • Be responsible for overseeing and coordinating installation of electrical, instrumentation and control systems at site.
  • Ensure Installed Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls equipment is installed as per design intent adhering to engineering standards and specifications. Liaising with the design engineering department to clarify and resolve any site issues.
  • Manage the Installer in order to ensure the safe installation, testing and operation of all electrical systems. Lead & manage the installers construction teams to deliver their responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the change control & early warning process is administered working closely with the commercial team to ensure costs are managed correctly and effectively.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with a range of electrical plant including switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, and variable speed drives etc.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Low/Med voltage electrical systems associated with Emergency/Ultimate Generators including controls and instrumentation sub-systems
  • An understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation, CDM standards and focussed on safe working.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
