Electrical Reliability Test Engineer - Join a Leading Team in Automotive Excellence!

This is a unique opportunity for an Electrical Reliability Test Engineer to contribute to groundbreaking projects within one of Europe's leading automotive technical centres. Based in Cranfield, this role offers a competitive rate of up to £29/hr PAYE and a chance to be part of a team that's shaping the future of the automotive industry.


What You Will Do:

  1. Lead electrical function, performance, and reliability tests for Body Electronics and CAN architecture/network testing.
  2. Manage concern identification to root cause investigation, including countermeasure recommendation.
  3. Support design departments to ensure the quality of component testing and create detailed test plans and procedures.
  4. Coordinate overall vehicle test technical aspects, including project leadership as required.
  5. Provide technical support to production plants and test houses and offer field investigation support for responsible systems.
  6. Generate formal test reports and ensure electrical systems meet the company’s rigorous standards.

What You Will Bring:

  1. A degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a deep understanding of electrical theory and electronic devices.
  2. Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, having completed at least two vehicle developments, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  3. Experience with automotive electrical architecture and a strong grasp of network communications principles.
  4. Proficiency in problem-solving tools and techniques, with practical experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development.
  5. Understanding of electromagnetics and of vehicle EMC test requirements.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with competency in Microsoft Excel and Project.
  7. A proactive, positive, and energetic personality, flexible regarding working practices and hours, and able to multitask between projects.
  8. Ability to travel abroad on occasion, typically for a few days to 2 weeks.

Location:

This role is based in Cranfield, with a requirement of a minimum of 3 days on-site.
