My client is an Electrical Contractor who has been operating for over 13 years and has a turnover of over £8 million a year.

With 11 direct employed staff, they are seeking an Electrical Manager / QS to join the team.

Position: Electrical Manager and QS - Full Time - Permanent

We are looking for an Electrical Manager who will also take on the role of QS by successfully completing a NICEIC Assessment and joining our electrical division.

The role will report to the Directors and be responsible for managing the site supervisors, field engineers, and sub-contractors on existing and new projects. You will also oversee all electrical aspects of the company.

Responsibilities:

1. Be the main point of contact between the Project Manager and the site supervisors and field engineers.
2. Manage the financial performance and reporting of all projects.
3. Coordinate and control works from the design stage through to completion and the handover of the project to the client.
4. Manage day-to-day operations on site, ensuring successful completion within the required timeframe.
5. Effectively program and manage all works, including any variations or delays, and notify clients accordingly.
6. Liaise with management team members to ensure adequate labor and sub-contract resources are available on site.
7. Plan and organize suitable labor to meet project requirements.
8. Oversee all materials and deliveries to ensure they align with the project schedule and specifications.
9. Manage and motivate site staff, ensuring engagement and target achievement.
10. Ensure workmanship and material standards are met in accordance with specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
11. Ensure site team and sub-contractors follow company policies and procedures.
12. Attend and, in some instances, plan and deliver weekly review meetings with clients and our supervisors and engineers.
13. Create and maintain good relations with clients, staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
14. Oversee all RAMS and toolbox talks, ensuring this information is recorded appropriately.
15. Verify inspection and test results in a timely manner to prevent commercial delays and potential claims against the company.
16. Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
17. Overall management of all contracts from pre-start to completion and final O&M’s.
18. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety.
19. Stay updated with new regulations including BS7671, BS5839, and BS5266.
20. Be registered as the Qualifying Supervisor for the company’s electrical division and be available for annual assessments by the NICEIC.

Qualifications:

1. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation
2. City & Guilds 18th Edition
3. Inspection and Testing 2391/2 or equivalent
4. Experience in fault finding and test and inspecting
5. Experience in maintenance, social housing, domestic, and commercial sectors including fire alarms and emergency lighting

Skills and Experience required:

1. Highly organized & self-motivated.
2. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
3. Effective management and prioritization of workload.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
5. Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
6. Minimum 7 years electrical experience.
7. Minimum 3 years contract/project management experience or similar.
8. Good commercial understanding.
9. Strong health and safety knowledge.
10. Driving license.
11. Previous experience as the main NICEIC QS.

Package available:

1. £60,000.00 - £65,000.00 per annum, depending on experience
