Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Packaging)

Consultant: Our client, one of the UK's leading providers of critical engineering services, has a fantastic permanent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on day shift at their food manufacturing facility in the Rotherham area of South Yorkshire.

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving packaging machinery and systems within the factory. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance of all packaging equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on packaging machinery to prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with packaging equipment and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to ensure smooth operation of packaging lines.
  • Ensure all maintenance schedules are recorded.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all packaging equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all packaging operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Provide training and support to production staff on proper use and maintenance of packaging machinery.
  • Review on a daily basis PPM's in the packing area and improve reliability.

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • Qualified in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of packaging machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience within the Food or FMCG industry.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (08.00 - 16.30pm Mon - Fri on permanent days).
