Job description

Role: Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Electrician

Salary: £46,000 to £48,500 per annum, plus overtime and opportunities to learn and develop

Hours: 2 week rotation of days and night shifts. 6.00am to 6.00pm (days) & 6.00pm-6.00am (nights)

Week 1 is Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat

Week 2 is Sun, Wed, Thurs

Location: Commutable from Durham, Darlington, Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Sunderland and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Electrician to work within a manufacturing company at one of their leading automated factories. You will benefit from a friendly and loyal team of Engineers working in this fast-paced environment. The role is varied and enjoyable where you can expect to be challenged, supported, and help continuously improve machinery.

Responsibilities

  1. This role will involve all aspects of troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project work.
  2. You will be required to look for and implement continuous improvements individually and as part of a team.
  3. Plan and carry out preventative maintenance to ensure a high standard of plant maintenance.
  4. Assist in all maintenance activities on site.
  5. Work as part of the electrical maintenance team ensuring that all electrical plant equipment is operating efficiently with minimal downtime.
  6. Adhere to strict health and safety requirements at all times.
  7. Electrical maintenance of all plant and machinery through fault finding, planned maintenance, shutdowns, and project work.
  8. Identify solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  9. Develop an understanding of machinery operation to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently.
  10. Provide good communication to colleagues and production and keep logs of maintenance work.
  11. Work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.
  12. Be actively involved in the TPM improvement process.
  13. Work tidily and contribute positively to the 5S system.
  14. The role will include anything electrical, including sensors, motors, variable speed drives, contactors, relays, inverters, and PLCs. Experience with some of these is highly desirable.

Requirements
  1. Completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship or hold an engineering Electrical qualification.
  2. Experience of electrical maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  3. Some of the following electrical experience: 3 phase, star/delta motors, sensors, inverters, PLC fault finding, contactors, relays, servo drives, installations, general maintenance.
  4. Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with a hunger to learn and progress.
  5. Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.
