Job description

We are currently looking to speak with a maintenance candidate who will take up the position as Electrical & Instrument Technician for our client based in Cumbria.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Overtime + Bonus + 16% Pension on a day role

Industry: Chemical / Power / CHP / Biomass / Fuel

Company Background:

The client is a leading energy infrastructure business and operator of several UK energy sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plans.
  • Complete the Planned Maintenance inspections as defined by the site maintenance plans.
  • Day to day core role duties include breakdown and preventative activities.
  • Work with permit signatories daily to discuss and prepare permit requests, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain HV distribution and rotating equipment and associated control systems.
  • Authorised to write safety documents to work on the site HV system.
  • Safe isolation of electrical systems.
  • Maintain LV rotating equipment and associated control systems.
  • Maintain hazardous area equipment.
  • Provide solutions within a specified timescale whilst minimising costs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in continuous process/production environments.
  • NVQ / Apprenticeship in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Fault finding, root cause analysis, problem solving, first line defect repair, and data monitoring.
  • Ability to follow procedures, systems & processes and meet targets.
  • Makes practical recommendations to continually improve operations.
  • Familiarity with Safe System of Work processes & procedures: Permit to work, risk assessments, and method statements.
