Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of an Electrical, Fire & Security Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.00 - £27.90 per hour

Summary:

The Agency Electrical Engineer will be responsible for delivering professional electrical engineering services across council properties. This includes managing electrical building services, supporting maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives such as the Council's Net Zero Carbon initiative. The role involves direct coordination with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surveying buildings and plant, recommending maintenance actions.
  • Ensure electrical systems function safely and efficiently.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from feasibility to delivery.
  • Design and manage systems including lighting, power, fire alarms, CC TV, lifts, automated doors, and IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure surveys align with statutory and contract programming requirements.

Knowledge:

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering services across large property portfolios.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations (2015 Edition) and statutory compliance.
  • Understanding of asset management, building systems, and energy conservation strategies.
  • Working knowledge of safety, procurement, and building maintenance protocols.
