Job description

Electrical Engineer
Our Multi-site client is looking for skilled Electrical Engineers in the following areas:

Braintree
Gillingham

With experience in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold storage environments. This is a hands-on role that involves maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on industrial equipment.
  2. Safely use power tools, including drills, grinders, cutting equipment, saws, files, and presses.
  3. Work at heights using ladders, steps, and walkways.
  4. Handle hot and cold equipment, following safe systems of work and PPE requirements.
  5. Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
  6. Work collaboratively with other engineers and teams to ensure smooth production processes.

Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in a manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold storage environment.
  2. Strong hands-on experience with electrical systems, industrial wiring, and control panels.
  3. Proficiency in using power tools and electrical components.
  4. Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Comfortable working in temperature-variable environments (hot/cold).

Desirable:
  1. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering).
  2. Knowledge of risk assessments, PPE requirements, and safe working procedures.
