Job Profile Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring maintenance activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies while providing front-line technical support for equipment reliability. Manages maintenance operations with a focus on budget control and executes strategies to enhance safety and performance. Supports change management and budget preparation. Optimizes maintenance plans, ensures spare parts availability, and maintains accurate records. Supports shutdown processes and conducts audits for process compliance. Proactively addresses equipment lifecycle issues, participates in failure analysis, and drives innovation for improved facility safety and performance.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to RRUK Philosophy, UK Safety, Environmental & Quality systems, and statutory legislation, British Standards, and Codes of Practice in delivering maintenance activities.
  • Provide front-line technical support and guidance to ensure discipline equipment reliability and availability.
  • Manage maintenance activities, including budget oversight, planning, and execution, emphasizing cost control measures and competence in vendor management for quality and budget adherence.
  • Support the execution of the Asset Preventive Master Plan to enhance facility safety, production performance, and reliability.
  • Act as the discipline competent person, supporting change management processes and providing technical assistance to asset operations teams.
  • Assist the lead discipline engineer in preparing and managing the discipline's opex budget, aligning with long-term goals.
  • Optimize maintenance master plan activities, ensuring critical spares availability to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and CMMS data, including discipline-related shutdown activities.
  • Support the shutdown team throughout the Planned Maintenance Shutdown (PMSD) process, from scope identification to execution.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure process compliance and quality completion of maintenance activities.
  • Proactively address equipment lifecycle issues, implement reliability improvement actions, and manage vendors for key mechanical equipment contracts.
  • Promote and implement technological innovations to enhance facility safety, production performance, and reliability.
  • Follow quality plan & lead the identification and implementation of suitable quality controls.
  • Arrange and track to completion quality activities such as audits, inspections, and NCRs.
  • Feedback on any quality lessons for future work.
  • Engage with key vendors/suppliers to assess how they are managing quality on UKBU's behalf.

Professional Skills and Experiences

  • Previous maintenance experience within the oil and gas industry preferred.
  • Competent in the use of CMMS.
  • Experience in WEP (Work Execution Process).
  • Good general knowledge of electrical engineering principles associated with upstream oil & gas processing, including (but not limited to): Electrical Design, Power System Studies, Electrical Calculations, Electrical equipment & systems up to 13.8kV, EX Equipment/EX Certification/ATEX, Subsea Electrical systems, Power Generation control.
  • Awareness and competence in Quality Assurance and Quality Control preferred.

Educational Qualification and Certifications

Degree in relevant engineering discipline or substantial technical experience.

Other Requirements

The role may require travelling offshore for certain business requirements.
