Main duties and responsibilities for an Electrical/Domestic Tester
As an Electrical/Domestic Tester you will report to the Supervisor / Contract Manager, and you are the first point of contact between the business and our client. You must have good written and oral communication skills and have a high level of technical knowledge across the electrical industry.
Working hours are Monday-Friday 08.00-17.00 with weekend work and overtime available upon request!
The main duties of an Electrical/Domestic Tester include:
Conduct EICR testing and inspections to ensure all electrical installations comply with current regulations.
Perform routine electrical testing and maintenance on housing association properties.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a timely and efficient manner.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Complete EICR certifications and accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
Provide excellent and friendly customer service to tenants and address any electrical concerns promptly.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors as needed.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 in Inspection and Testing.
18th Edition
Proven experience in EICR testing and electrical testing.
Experience & Skills
UK Driving Licence (required)
Experience in electrical repair, maintenance, servicing & installations, preferably within the public sector
A sound knowledge of tools, equipment & materials common to the Electrical Trade
Current Trade Qualifications
Good communication skills, both verbal & written
The ability to interpret schematics and electrical drawings
IT literate
