Job description

Smart4 EPC is partnering with a leading M&E contractor in the construction industry, to find a talented Electrical Construction Manager to join their team. This role requires a strong focus on project execution, safety, compliance, and quality control. As a key player in the project team, you will oversee the electrical aspects of construction, ensuring the timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.


Role Overview:
The Electrical Construction Manager will manage the mechanical services on-site, ensuring efficient project execution, compliance with safety regulations, and the delivery of high-quality results. You will be responsible for coordinating with various teams & managing subcontractors.


Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  1. Team Support & Leadership: Support the Project Manager in managing and supervising personnel on-site, ensuring all team members are working efficiently and safely.
  2. Safety & Quality Assurance: Lead by example in maintaining high standards of safety and work quality, while ensuring compliance with site safety plans and rules.
  3. On-Site Leadership: Assume leadership on-site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and according to the established safety plan.
  4. Employee Training & Competency: Ensure all employees are appropriately trained and qualified to carry out their tasks safely and professionally.
  5. Labour & Resource Management: Plan and manage labour and material resources, ensuring optimal efficiency. Monitor subcontractor labour hours to maintain effective control.
  6. Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor activities, ensuring progress is tracked against the project schedule, and addressing any performance issues.
  7. Communication & Reporting: Ensure regular communication with subcontractors, addressing performance issues and fostering strong working relationships. Report incidents and take necessary actions.
  8. Material Checks & Quality Control: Confirm all materials match project specifications prior to installation.
  9. Quality Plan Implementation: Enforce the project's quality plan, ensuring that snag lists are completed promptly.
  10. Project Handover: Support the Project Manager during the project handover to the client, helping to close out outstanding project items.
  11. Scope Management: Ensure the completion of work as per the project scope and collaborate with the Project Manager for approval of any additional works or changes.

What We Are Looking For:

  1. Qualifications: Trade or degree qualified in an electrical or electrical discipline.
  2. Experience: A proven track record in electrical contracting, with at least 5 years of experience in a construction management role.
  3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of the design and construction process within the electrical contracting industry.
  4. Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both team members and subcontractors.
  5. Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges on-site proactively and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the required standard.
